A stairway to heaven! May be. These stairs are located in the Chile House in Hamburg. Chasing the light and shadows was a lot of fun. Next time a use a tripod. Better for my neck. Happy days. Reinhold
Hamburg. Always a special location to visit. Even for a few hours only. I like how the light of the sunrise reflects on the the rails leaving Hamburg’s main station. A railway station and the rails always create a feeling of coming and going. Happy days. Reinhold
Good news and bad news. My first exposed 6×6 film with functionality test shots has returned from the lab. The good news is… the old camera still works. The bad news is, I have a problem. Major or minor, I don’t know. Light flares on all of the sheets of film. Top right corner, and some in the right center of the frame. Could be the lens, could be the back of the camera (the little window where the sheet no of the film is displayed). I could fix 2 of the images in post. I used Photoshop to darken the areas of the light flares. Otherwise I changed the exposure and darkened the images slightly. I overexposed the film by 1 stop. Did the metering with my Fuji X100 and used the results as a guideline for the manual metering. The next steps: I have 3 films left and I will try a few other things. #1 – Close the window on the back while I shoot. #2 Cover the camera with a black piece of fabric while I shoot. Hopefully this will help! Any ideas from your side? Happy days. Reinhold
This post continues my series “1 Location – 2 Images”. Images have been taken in Frankfurt in the city center at the “Römer”. I was surprised how different the windows looked and felt, when I change the position to capture these images. Happy days. Reinhold
Location: Dänikhorster Moor
Camera: Fuji X100
A credit to my followers and to all people who comment and like my images. Thank you!
This is the second image of day 1. We had quiet heavy wind and waves. I decided to take a closer look at the rocks in the foreground of my first image. Actually… I always wanted to shoot an image like this. A simple and minimalistic composition with all the aspects of a long exposure image. 50mm, f5.6, 30 sec, ISO 200, 10 sec timer. Same camera, same lens. Same location. After that the light was gone. I did one other “test” shot. But I think of it more as an experiment than a planned composition. I add this one as well. Interested what you think about it! Happy days. Reinhold
This is the pier of my first image. This time straight from the front. 80mm, f5.6, 30 sec, ISO 200, 10 sec timer. Same camera, same lens. Same location.
We arrived late on Saturday afternoon. We took a 2 days trip to the Baltic Sea and stayed in a small but very comfortable hotel next to the beach. In the summer a very busy location. At this time of year very relaxed and not many other people around. I used the remaining light for the first shot (of two that day). Fuji X-T1, the Fuji 50-230mm consumer zoom, tripod, no filter, 75mm, f5.6, 30 seconds, auto ISO, 10 sec timer. I took 5 shots in these 2 days. I will keep one shot for my local “print” portfolio. The other 3 will be published until Friday this week. Happy days. Reinhold

I am currently in the far north of Germany. Looking to find some more and challenging locations. Will be back tomorrow. Hopefully with some new images of stunning views. Happy days! Reinhold
This morning I missed the ground fog in our local moor by just 1 hour. But I still like to be there at any time of the day. In 5 years all these trees will be gone… weathered. Until then it is my favorite “go to” location. For more responses to the theme, please click Weathered. Happy days. Reinhold
3 more images of the ice art at our lake yesterday. Temperature is back to normal and all of the ice is gone. One of my rules of photography. You have to be in the right spot at the right time… and hopefully carry a camera in your rucksack! Happy days. Reinhold
This image has been taken during a boat trip in the harbour of Hamburg. I still like these “urban landscapes”. So in between my “usual” landscape photography, there will be some street and architecture images. Happy days and a good start into your week. Reinhold

It is 7:00 in the morning. I am planning to visit the Fintlandsmoor. Trying to get some snowy images of the wetlands and moor lakes. There is some snow left. But I think it is more rain than snow. It will be a cold and wet experience. I will see it in a few minutes. And you will see it later this afternoon.
