In the air tonight

Textures of music, light and fog… in the air tonight

RSP - Reinhold Staden Photography - In the air tonight
In the air tonight

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord
And I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord
Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord
Well if you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand
I’ve seen your face before my friend, but I don’t know if you know who I am
Well I was there and I saw what you did, I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you’ve been
It’s all been a pack of lies

And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord
Well I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord
I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord
Well I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord
Well I remember, I remember, don’t worry, how could I ever forget
It’s the first time, the last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep your silence up, oh no you don’t fool me
Well the hurt doesn’t show, but the pain still grows
It’s no stranger to you and me

I can’t get no…

… real satisfaction talking too much about my gear. Often gear doesn’t matter. To be there in the right location, at the right time and creating the fun factor to shoot a cool image is all what really matters to me. I add 5 samples. Often I can not tell the camera type by looking at one of my images. And this is actually a cool thing.
If you want to try it: there is an iPhone 5s, a Nikon D200, a Nikon D800, a Fuji X100 and a Fuji X-T1 involved. Solution at the bottom of the page. 🙂 Enjoy your weekend! Reinhold

The blue bridge – not as gigantic as the Tower Bridge in London or the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, but the KWB – Kaiser Wilhelm Brücke in Wilhelmshaven is a landmark of the North.

Sky Above

There was this short moment of time, the transition of last sunlight to darkness on the forest floor in our woodlands. A delta of light. The PSD file has a dimension of 10,000 x 6,000 px and is optimized for large scale printing.

This is image #1 of 4 of my Patterns series.

I need a friend

RSP - Reinhold Staden Photography - Need a Friend
I need a friend…

Dragonfly in search of a Friend… photo has been taken in the Fintlandsmoor, a new cultivated piece of wetland to support the global climate. I am proud that we do something right over here. Otherwise it will be “very, very bad” for this dragonfly and our children. Not a good deal.

Make our planet great again. Earth first.

Lost Friends

Lost Friends

The old tree in the moor and the groynes in the wadden sea. Both friends of mine. Both are lost. Forever. Replaced by nothing and a modern stone wave breaker. I have seen them so many times over the last 2 years. I thought I bring them together in one last image! I will miss them! Hope they are having a fun time in the trees and groynes heaven.

After Dinner

RSP - Reinhold Staden Photography - Evanescent
Evanescent – Soon passing out of sight, memory, or existence; quickly fading or disappearing…

After Dinner – we had seafood, wine and candle light…and suddenly she was gone. What is left is the smell of the ocean, the wind and the sound of the approaching waves. I have to wake up. Because who actually has a dinner in the wadden sea?

May be you will find memories of other dinner parties here: Evanescent

Heritage Wadden Sea

I sometimes call this our “coast of nothingness”. No rocks, no cliffs, no waves, no foreground interest. And could you believe that? They have taken away the remains of this old pier and built a concrete stone “wave breaker” into the wadden sea. What are they doing? Killing the last pieces of interest? I felt miserable when I saw it last weekend. 😦

Heritage Wadden Sea

WADDEN SEA

The Wadden Sea is the largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world. The site covers the Dutch Wadden Sea Conservation Area, the German Wadden Sea National Parks of Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, and most of the Danish Wadden Sea maritime conservation area. It is a large, temperate, relatively flat coastal wetland environment, formed by the intricate interactions between physical and biological factors that have given rise to a multitude of transitional habitats with tidal channels, sandy shoals, sea-grass meadows, mussel beds, sandbars, mudflats, salt marshes, estuaries, beaches and dunes. The area is home to numerous plant and animal species, including marine mammals such as the harbour seal, grey seal and harbour porpoise. Wadden Sea is one of the last remaining large-scale, intertidal ecosystems where natural processes continue to function largely undisturbed.

Reflections are always reflecting my type of landscape photography. I am fascinated by the amazing light and stunning shapes reflecting in water. These images have been captured at a local lake with my Fuji X100 and X-T1. Converted into black and white with Lightroom and Photoshop.

Aircraft leaving Danger Zone

Image 19/20 – Danger Zone

This image is part of my series: Develop my personal style

January 2015. Storm “Felix” on its way to hit the coast of North Germany. I wanted to capture those amazing cloud formations. In the top left side of the view finder I saw this aircraft passing the storm. Actually I think the aircraft was flying above the storm field. But in this moment it looked a bit “dangerous” to me.

I feel Wanderlust

I feel Wanderlust

Image 17/20 –  it is a German word. It is made from “wandern”, which means walking and “Lust” desire. For me it means discovering new places. I feel Wanderlust this weekend. Smiles. Reinhold
