Tomorrow it will melt like ice in the sunshine. But today the wind still creates some beautiful ice art at our lake. This easter wind will remain for another night. And tomorrow we will have sunshine and temperatures above the freezing point. Happy days. Reinhold
Sunrise. Our lake. Frozen. Not even birds in the sky. It is extremely cold. But I enjoyed the moment, the silence and the view. If I jump and run…
In this moment I recognized where I live. Silence and emptiness all around me. I shared our lake with the Queen of the Lake. What a precious moment.
Our frozen lake after 2 days of temperatures above the freezing point. Most of the ice is gone. We had a wonderful period of a few weeks with sunshine and cold weather and wind from the east. I used my Fuji X100 for all the images I captured because my Fuji X-T1 is in service. For nearly 5 weeks now. It is still in the shipment phase. For 1 week now. Left England and is on its way to Germany. Hopefully I will get my camera back before summer. 🙂 Happy days. Reinhold
After several days of cold feet and patience and 1 day before I had to return the X-T2 and the 100-400 lens, my wife spotted the eagle owl high in a tree looking down at us. Handheld is difficult at this angle and in the light conditions of a forest. But I managed to get some cool shots of this awesome owl.
We decided to call the owl “Theo”. Happy days. Reinhold

I remember I promised this. Model shooting details from last year.
Last year I did my first shooting of 14 young Golden Retriever. The period to sell the images to their new owners is over now. These are my sweet 4 of the group. I hope I will have a second shoot this year. So much fun! Happy days. Reinhold

Never tried to capture the Dänikhorster Moor (Entrance Area) as a whole. I shot 10-12 individual images of each location and created 4 panoramic images. To shoot about 40 images was quite a challenge in the short time frame of the sun rising. But everything worked out quiet well. Hope you will enjoy the “tour” of the moor. Happy days.

Good news and bad news. My first exposed 6×6 film with functionality test shots has returned from the lab. The good news is… the old camera still works. The bad news is, I have a problem. Major or minor, I don’t know. Light flares on all of the sheets of film. Top right corner, and some in the right center of the frame. Could be the lens, could be the back of the camera (the little window where the sheet no of the film is displayed). I could fix 2 of the images in post. I used Photoshop to darken the areas of the light flares. Otherwise I changed the exposure and darkened the images slightly. I overexposed the film by 1 stop. Did the metering with my Fuji X100 and used the results as a guideline for the manual metering. The next steps: I have 3 films left and I will try a few other things. #1 – Close the window on the back while I shoot. #2 Cover the camera with a black piece of fabric while I shoot. Hopefully this will help! Any ideas from your side? Happy days. Reinhold
This post continues my series “1 Location – 2 Images”. Images have been taken in Frankfurt in the city center at the “Römer”. I was surprised how different the windows looked and felt, when I change the position to capture these images. Happy days. Reinhold
Something I always wanted to do. Shooting film. Again. Started with a Canon A1 and now I am back where I started. The Agfa Isolette II is a medium format camera (6 x 6) which is consuming roll-film 120. No batteries. No programs. Now I have to proof if I know the art of photography or not. I am really excited to try it. I bought 2 films. Ilford 120 roll-film. FP4 (125 ISO) and DELTA (100 ISO). Found a company in Germany for the development and scanning. Images will be delivered in TIFF format online or via DVD. Prints (any size) are optional. The tripod is about the same age. The Agfa is fully functional, the inside looks brand new. The tripod is basically out of the box. Found both gems in a local antique store round the corner. They were full of dirt and dust. Less than 50 $ for both! A bit of care and love brought them back to life. We will have a lot of fun together. I wait for a bit of sunshine. And then I will try to find some cool compositions and will shoot film again. So excited. :-). Definitely happy days! Reinhold
I bought a radio for our new home. I was so tired “talking” to my radio and to buy fancy features in another fancy device . So I bought luxus. A venus. A venus luxus. A Loewe Opta Venus Luxus tube radio. Built 1954. It was built in the same time I was born. Still working. 100%. Great sound. The sound of a tube radio and tube amplifier. Who ever played in a rock band (I did), knows what I mean. I listen now all day long to Radio Bremen 1. They play vintage rock. And guess what… I listen to the music. Happy days! Reinhold
All images taken yesterday with my Fuji X-T1 wearing my “Old guys rule” t-shirt while listening to this music.
My other (fun) project for 2018: “Mirrored Landscapes”. The left and right / or top and bottom of the image have an identical source image. All work is done in LR and PS CC. I took the original shot in our local moor, the Fintlandsmoor the other day. Happy days! Reinhold
