After several days of cold feet and patience and 1 day before I had to return the X-T2 and the 100-400 lens, my wife spotted the eagle owl high in a tree looking down at us. Handheld is difficult at this angle and in the light conditions of a forest. But I managed to get some cool shots of this awesome owl.
We decided to call the owl “Theo”. Happy days. Reinhold
Shot with Fuji X-T2 and Fuji XF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR
What an amazing encounter – and a stunning shot! Is that rain or snow falling between you? It’s like he’s looked right through the veil, through the lens and right at you, all-knowing. Wonderful!!
Thank you! I had snowed an hour before the shot. At the same time it was windy. From the east. -16 ° C. There was some snow left on the leaves and drifting into the frame. I hoped that I could see it in the composition. The eagle owl was about 8-10m high in the tree. We still look at the material and and there is one image which is awesome. Just eyes looking at you. Glad you like it. Happy days. Reinhold … saw him yesterday in an even better position. But I had to return the 100-400mm lens. A shame. 😦
Beautiful capture …
Looks like it wanted to get photographed 🙂
🦉what else? 😁
Well done, Reinhold. He’s magnificent!
Thank you, Sheila. 🦉
Welcome Theo. Please stick around for some more photo opportunities.
I will be back with some other shots and a video. 🦉
